App Store QR Code Generator
An app QR code takes someone straight to your app's download page. Point it at your App Store link, your Google Play link, or a single smart link that detects the phone and sends each person to the right store. Print it on packaging, posters, receipts and flyers.

Looks scannable
What happens when someone scans it
The phone opens the store page — the App Store app on iPhone, the Play Store on Android — with an Install button ready. If you used a store-specific link, iPhone users scanning a Play link land on a web page instead, so a smart link that routes by device is worth setting up for a mixed audience. Nothing installs automatically; the person taps Install.
How to make a App Store QR Code
- 1
Get your store link
Copy your App Store URL (apps.apple.com/…) or Google Play URL (play.google.com/store/apps/…). For a mixed audience, make a smart link (a service like Branch, Adjust or a Firebase Dynamic Link) that routes each phone to the right store, and use that URL instead.
- 2
Paste it
Enter the link. A shorter link makes a less dense, easier-to-scan code — the smart-link services give you a tidy short URL.
- 3
Brand the code
Your app icon as the centre logo, your colours. Error correction is raised automatically for the logo.
- 4
Download and place
SVG for print, PNG for digital. Add a line like 'Scan to download our app'.
Where to use it
- Product packaging and in-box cards
- Posters, standees and shop signage
- Printed receipts and loyalty cards
- Event booths and conference handouts
- Magazine and newspaper ads
- Restaurant tables for an order-ahead app
Frequently asked questions
Can one QR code work for both iPhone and Android?
Yes, with a smart link (deferred deep link) that detects the operating system and redirects to the right store. A plain App Store or Play Store URL only fits one platform cleanly.
Should I link to the store or to a landing page?
Straight to the store is fewer taps to install. A landing page lets you explain the app first and hold a smart link, at the cost of one extra step.
Can the code open the app if it's already installed?
With a deep link, yes — it opens the app instead of the store for people who already have it. That needs a smart-link service, not a bare store URL.
Is it editable after printing?
Not a static code. If your store URL changes you'd reprint. A smart link you control is effectively editable — you change where it points on the service's dashboard.
How big should an app QR code be on packaging?
At least 2.5–3 cm, scanned from about 30 cm. See the QR code size guide for other distances.
