UPI Payment QR Code Generator

A UPI QR code lets any customer pay you from any UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM. It carries your UPI ID and name, and optionally a fixed amount. Print it once, stick it at the counter, and take payments without a card machine.

Leave blank to let the payer enter it

Looks scannable

What happens when someone scans it

GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or the customer's bank app opens with your business name shown and, if you set one, the amount already filled in. The customer confirms with their UPI PIN and the money lands directly in your account — no card machine, no settlement wait. If you left the amount blank, they type it. It works only on phones with a UPI app, so in practice this is for customers in India.

How to make a UPI Payment QR Code

  1. 1

    Enter your UPI ID

Your VPA, like yourname@okhdfcbank or shop@paytm, plus the payee name customers should see.

  2. 2

    Fixed or open amount

Leave the amount blank so the customer types it, or set a fixed price for a specific product.

  3. 3

    Make a counter poster

Use the UPI payment poster template for a clean 'Scan & Pay' sheet with your shop name.

  4. 4

    Print and display

Laminate the SVG print-out so it survives a busy counter.

Where to use it

  • Shop and stall counters — 'Scan & Pay'
  • Restaurant bills and table payments
  • Home services — plumbers, electricians, tutors collecting on the spot
  • Market stalls and pop-up events
  • Donation boxes at temples, NGOs and community drives

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a payment gateway?

No. A personal or business UPI ID from your bank or a UPI app is enough to receive money.

Is there a fee?

UPI person-to-merchant payments are generally free for small merchants in India. Check your bank's current terms.

Can customers pay any amount?

Yes, if you leave the amount blank. Set a fixed amount only for single-price items.

Which apps can scan it?

Every UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay and bank apps — reads the same standard UPI QR.

Is a self-made UPI QR code safe for customers?

Yes. The QR only carries your UPI ID and name — the same information printed on any merchant sticker. Customers still confirm the payee and amount in their app before paying. Just double-check your own UPI ID before printing.

How is this different from a Paytm or PhonePe merchant QR?

A branded merchant QR is tied to that company's settlement and reporting. This is a plain UPI QR that works from any app and pays straight into the bank account behind your UPI ID — no onboarding, no dashboard.

Can one UPI QR code pay into more than one account?

No. Each code carries a single UPI ID, which maps to one account. Make a separate code per account or per outlet.

Is there a transaction limit?

UPI itself caps most person-to-merchant payments at ₹1 lakh per transaction (higher for verified merchants), and your bank may set a daily limit. The QR code has no limit of its own.
