QR Studio vs The QR Code Generator

The QR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com) is a polished tool with good dynamic QR codes and analytics on its paid plans. It's also the one people most often get caught by: a 'free' dynamic code that stops working when a trial ends. Its static codes are genuinely free. QR Studio keeps it simple — everything static is free forever, with no trial and no account.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my free QR code from qr-code-generator.com stop working?

It was almost certainly a dynamic code created during a trial. Dynamic codes redirect through the provider's server; when the trial ends the redirect is disabled and the printed code goes dead. A static code — like the ones QR Studio makes — has no server in the middle, so it can't be switched off.

Are static QR codes from The QR Code Generator safe to keep using?

Yes. Static codes encode the data directly and don't expire. The issue is only with the trial dynamic codes.

Does QR Studio have the same problem?

No. QR Studio only makes static codes right now, so there's nothing on anyone's server that can lapse. When dynamic codes are added they'll be clearly labelled and priced, never a silent trial.
